Our Story

In 2011 York Diocese offered the buildings next door to Holy Nativity church in Eastfield, Scarborough for use as a social action centre. This recognised the needs of some of the people in the area and the possibility that this building could house some solutions to those needs. Rev. Sam Taylor was given the challenge of developing how the buildings could be used. She gathered a team and through a lot of hard work and the support of Scarborough Deanery the current Westway Open Arms was developed. It opened to the public and became a charity in 2013.
